SEKTION B

The interview was done during year 2005. I talked to Peter. Forgive us for bad English - we both are not native speakers.

:: Please introduce yourself. Who is hiding behind a monicker SECTION B?

SEKTION B are the following 3 persons: Jedi (sound and technic), SY214-B (vocals), L. White (vocals and management).
Sometimes we use for livegigs an extra technican which help us to create a good live performance.

:: For how long SB exists and what has influenced you to evolve into a power-electronics musicians? What do you consider you greatest achievements so far?

SEKTION B was foundet in the beginning of 2001. We have many musical, cultural and political influences which help us to create our music. Each SEKTION B member have some own ideas and influences which we bring in a fair contest in a result which we all contented.

Till today we create our own style of power-electronics and release some records on vinyl, tape and CD. Two complete albums, a 7', a video and a lot of contributions for different compilations all over the world.

:: How do you see a final goal for SB? How far you going to climb? What makes you climb...

SEKTION B have not a final goal! Our goal is - making music and bring our music to the interested people.

:: If you have seen Disclosure, a movie with M.Douglas and D.Moore, then you might remember slogan of it: Sexual harassment is not about sex, it's about power. In our case, power electronics is not about music, it's about power. Why do you play(?) PE? Why don't you mess around with neofolk, gothic, or black metal like most german bands do :)

We haven't seen the Disclosure movie!

We prefer PE as it is the best way to bring our feelings, ideas and passions in a musical form.

All other musicstyles (each SB member prefer some own musicstyles) we don't despise but we would never create such music styles with SEKTION B.

:: I have only two of your albums: Sleepers Wake Up 7" and Only Time - Hate and Revenge LP. And when I look at track-titles I notice that they deal with politics and violence. So, how do you create your albums? Do you build them around some kind of concept or different tracks inside an album do not linked to each other?

All of our releases, live concerts and tracks are concepted in a long way of hardest community works. The themes around politics, violence, crime and sex are the most important things in our life. So it is clear and easy for us that our works reflects those themes in our music.

:: Your band exists for not long, but you have released quite a number of releases. What do you consider your best release so far? And why?

Yes, SEKTION B doesn?t exists so long but we think that we don't produce much more music than our audience will listen and need. Some people ask us every time if we would contribute much more tracks to her compilations, play more live, create new albums, collaborations etc.! And very often we must say: NO! We are very slow in our music production! So many things we must do before a good SEKTION B track is created. All is concepted! You ask for our best SB release ? This is very difficult! I mean, that one of our best release was the SEKTION B VHS video-tape called "Visuelle Propaganda", also our second fulltime album "Only The Time" as LP on STEINKLANG Records (Aut).

:: I do not watch TV for almost 5 years already and the only time I had regrets about not owning this satanic device was September 11. Friend of mine called me back then and told that WTC is burning. I did not believe him. And when I came to his place I saw that amazing picture of collapsing towers... I confess I was really happy to see all that. It was cool. And later I have visited some forum about industrial music and I was amazed that people who listen to PE were crying like some pathetic girls about 'innocent victims'.... and it looks like many lovers of extreme music just play around all those brutal and extreme topics, in general they are no different from others.... what about you? Your music often concentrated around violence and political stuff, but who are you in life? How much common between you and SEKTION B?

On September 11th I came at home and would show TV. But all TV Stations played the same program. The event around GROUND ZERO in New York City and the collapsing world trade center towers. I was so angry that my normal afternoon TV program was cancelled for this! And I saw that the "sleepers" waked up! The one and only I could do was to record some of this very interesting sequences on video so that we have after September 11th some nice basic recordings for SEKTION B video tracks.
What other people means to this event ? I can't remember! It is so long time ago! Anyway are all cryings about revenge for the 'innocent victims' are meaningless! But the world sheriff USA had found a solution to find an other base to begin some political and economic wars! Yes the most of our works are concentrated around violence and political controversal stuff. The reason is that every people in the world are concernet from such themes in many ways! You could close your eyes but all over the world the crime and violence would never end. But we never show our direct opinion from SEKTION B to the audience! All that we do is to say: look here, look this and have an own opinion - free from mindcontrol! And "We are the breed apart"!

:: What do you mean by "sleepers woke up?". I haven't got your point.

The words "sleepers wake up" getting a new sense after September 11th. It means people which are brainwashed in the past from totally militared systems. Such people must live in a forreign land with a normal identity, family etc.! The brainwashed-effect is that those people can live (sleep) 20 years normal in their environment and if they get an deep in her brain installed signal (via telephone etc.) they are "wake up" going amok, killed people, destroy industry and much more funny terroristic acts. But they are not stupid killing machines - most paltry creatures of her own civilisation - simply victims!

And the effect which they are starting her activities are called "sleepers wake up" - a very nice slogan!

:: And what do you think about 9-11? Do you believe in official explanation with Bin Laden, Muslims fanatics and Al Kaeda. As far as I remember German ex-Minister of Police said that he does not believe in official theory.

Sorry - no comment!

:: I haven't seen many albums of SB, but I have noticed that pretty often contents of your tracks based around USA. Anti-americanism is pretty popular among Belarussians and among Russians, many people look at Americans as at enemies still. But what about Germans?

At first in every country (also in the USA) the people think very different about the USA, America and the people there. Some are very patriotic (stupid) and other called himself enemy of America. But what is a real enemy? A terrorist people? We don't know! Many people asks us because they think that SEKTION B?s opinion is ever anti-americanism. That is not completly correct. We work unsegregated with some american people in music and business. One of our next releases will be a SEKTIONB/CONTROL miniDVDR video. This is a one-track mini video from our concert on July 4th 2004 in Amsterdam/Netherland. Our concert we called officical "Hate America". At this festival (it was the american independence day) we perform the bonus track unsegregated with Thomas Garrison (CONTROL) from the USA. A very destructive, hateful power-noise track where we all destroyed some small american flags. On two other concerts with SEKTION B (in Austria and France) the audience burned our small american flags in hate of the Americans ? very funny for us! The one and only we would say to this theme is: Our enemy are not the american people - our enemy are the American way of life!

:: Frankly, when I read it I smile. It's so politically correct... the reality is quite grim. There is no abstract "bad American way of life" or "bad CIA" or "bad Bush", American people tolerate (and even support!) everything their government does because it comforts them. Even totally dumb American understand that he eats good food, watch fancy movies and earn money because Africa, Asia, Russia and South America suffer; Americans know that if they obey to "common" rules they will live like people in Mexico or Russia. So, I think the enemy is an average American guy and he should pay for all his country does right now. Do you agree?

We don't agree your opinion in all points!

It is a real fact that not all american people are the same stupid which we can see in the television and we don't like much!

And believe me I know what I say! I was sometimes in America and meet some different people so that my opinion is a bit different. Also SEKTION B work with some Americans together on some music projects.

In the same way how not all russian people are not communists, not all german people are war criminals, not all italien people are members from the mafia, not all netherlands people are drug dealer, not all polish people are shoplifters and not all israelish people are jewish!

:: What do you think about power electronics as a musical genre? Do you see demand for you music? How many usually visits your shows and buys releases?

Power electronics are the finally music style for us and we hope also for the civilisated world! The rest of the world consumed hip-hop (rap)! But these two musicstyles power electronics and hip-hop (rap) are nearly the same: hard rhythms, controversal, sometimes politically textes, a aggressive performance and critical messages!
So we can say: Power electronics are hip-hop (rap) for civilisated (white) people! Our first SEKTION B live gig was on June 26th 2001 in Germany and our last concert on December 11th in France. Till today SEKTION B played 13 live concerts. The most of those gigs are festivals in some countries and we hope that many gigs will follow! Possible next time in Russia if enough audience want to see us there, and a concert organisator will do that! We play really gladly live, because we are live much more aggressive and bring more power in our songs. Beside on our concerts we use every time video projections which are combined with our songs. SEKTION B gigs are visited in the past every time between 30 and 200 spectators. All SEKTION B releases which L. White Records produced are nearly sold out! About the other label releases I know that they are sold very good and many people like SEKTION B very much!

:: Does this mean that for you "civilized people" = "white people"? :) Do you consider yourself a racist? Personally I do consider myself a racist (I became one after living a year in Louisiana, USA). When I say "racist" I mean that I do not buy a theory that all nations are equal and the same: peoples are different... even more - men are different from women. Some have strong sides and weak one, others have their strong sides. What do you think about that?

I know that the british label SUSAN LAWLY (WHITEHOUSE etc.) released 1997 a cd compilation called "V.A. Extreme Music From Afrika" with some industrial-noise bands from the black continent. And I'm really shure that not one of the bands from these compilation are a black people. Also I don't know one industrial (especially power electronics) band which have a black member! So that I can say that without a racistical context.

But on your question - yes, we become racists! For shure, but in a different way than for an example M.E. Thiel from EGOAEDES. You have make with him an interview any time before and we know and like him very well. I work myself any time with him on any projects.

Our racism means not especially a human race or an nationality. We think that people shows differences in intelligency and the stenght of the mind, how easy they could be influenced.

People are different in the way they disclaim their pride and selfrespect. At least, it counts the summ of the life from any human, so everyone could decide what every human is worth.

You could see it everywhere: Bad people are becoming bad lifes.

The next question is, if the is a parallelity of human groups with same degenerative problems.

If niggers in LA shoot themselfs, they answered the racistical question themselfs.
In fact we are no racist, they are.

It is good to know that life is harder than anyone, DAS LEBEN BESTRAFT SICH SELBST.

:: To continue my previous question... do you know any industrial bandswith black members? I have never seen any... it's strange.

See my opinion before. Industrial music is made for DER HERRENMENSCH.

:: How would you imagine an ultimate SEKTION B release?

It will never give an ultimate SEKTION B release, but we know the ultimative concert location: The Ground Zero in New York.

But a good release have to be created in a long work from all 3 members which follow a concepted way on a maintheme. And the best mainthemes for us are events like the event around September 11th in NYC, the war on Gulf or Afghanistan.

:: German power electronics scene (in most cases) is based around politics or occultism. SEKTION B prefers politics. As a rule people tend not to involve themselves into political subjects, they believe that a person can live outside of it. You turn your listener's faces towards political matters cuz you want them to think about certain matters or... you do not care about your listener's reaction and it's just fun to mix music and politics :)

We have some political and social facts in our music. And we like it very much to use these different facts in our music. But we never say to the listeners that they must believe our opinions. We create and life our music so good we can with all our problems and restrictions. Some times the listener's reaction are positive on our music and some times not - not our problem! Music is our passion and not a stupid job where we must take considerations for the listeners!

:: Power electronics is not a music in 'typical' way, it's sound-oriented, and 'sound' is most important for any PE band. Some people think that this kind of music is very easy to make: turn on computer, play around with some programs and that's it. In some way it's right (for beginners), but almost every serious harsh noise/ PE musician creates sounds with various self-made equipment and know-how machines... what about you?

Yeah this is a very interesting point in the industrial-, especially in the PE scene!

Well we think that it is possible today to create industrial with computers very easyly! But you can hear the contrasts between the "old school" industrial bands and the new generation very well! The most of old bands create a very harsh and destructive sounds with some technical problems (live and on the recordings). The reason therefore is that they haven't modern technic, only her old equipment and so they create her sound only with hate and musically backgrounds. The music from new bands are going straight forward without technical differences, clear sounds and also clear vocals. And that all more in a commercial way! So easi it is - we think!

But we don't know which style is better! Some people think so and some other! SEKTION B use for the music both ways - a mixture between the old and new style of industrial music. But we never use self-made equipments, only synthesisers, vocal distortion machines and other analogue machines also like some computers.

If we are better than other older or new bands with our music - we cant say it - the listeners must find a final opinion!

:: Mat be this question repeats a bit already answered... but still it's important for understanding of your music. How do you think, your violent music is creation of violent soul or it's your answer to this violent reality?

Our music is an mirror of our violent souls and also our answer to this degenerete violent reality and fucking system where we life in.

:: How do you imagine a typical SB's fan? And what do you expect from your listeners?

We expect nothing from our listeners! It is not our passion to tell them a especially opinion! We make music from our own history, with our own feelings, with our own.

And not for the customers!

:: Some people believe that old-school power electronics/ harsh noise genre became obsolete, bands like CON-DOM, GREY WOLVES or even ANANCEPHALIA do not change and their music becomes boring. Listeners are interested in 'new' view on power electronics. What do you think about that? Personally I do believe that old-school stuff isn't actual any more. You, PROPERGOL... a couple more projects try to mix power electronics with rhythmic noise and other genres and it sounds much better than the same wall of noise...So, what do you think about perspectives of power electronics?

I mean that you can't compare together all of the old school bands!

Before 3 weeks I have seen CON-DOM and THE GREY WOLVES live in Paris. Both shows are very interesting, full of power and agression. Last weekend I have seen GENOCIDE ORGAN (one vocalist was B. Moloch from ANENZEPHALIA). Here you have badly right that these shows has lost a lot of power from the past! Some times really boring. People mean that GO etc. are to tired to perform in the same good old style! The same problem like THOROFON, DEUTSCH NEPAL and other bands.

It is the naturally way of live that "new" PE projects like ICK, PPF, CONTROL, IRM, INSTITUT, SEKTION B bring their fresh power to their live activities and releases!

But show for an example BRIGHTER DEATH NOW and WHITEHOUSE - both old school bands and even full of power: live and on their releases.

A good structured mixture of "older" noise things and young, fresh things (here PE sound) is the best way to create music - the same than sex with women! ha

:: As you know this year Europe celebrates the end of WWII. We both belong to nations that were fighting each other 60 years ago. So, it's interesting to know what do you think about that war? Your country was defeated, and it looks like all other countries believe that Germans must suffer from guilty feeling till the end of the world. Here in Belarus/ Russia people do not understand this situation. You have started the war - many other nations did the same once upon a time. You came to our land and killed our people - we came to your and did the same. The end. Why do Germany pays money to Israel; why contemporary Germans must regret about events of the previous century; why should they feel guilty? I do not understand... do you? (I know that this kind of topic is pretty dangerous for Germany so your answer can be printed only in Russian and I will not upload it on our site in English. If you want of course).

We hate the officical discussion about the WWII celebrating this year very much! The one and only aim this will be have is a remembering of the collective blame for the german people and for safing the reparations to the other countries. But we Germans pay still for the reparations from the WWI and the WWII.

Enough is enough!

All SEKTION B members are born any years after the WWII. The one and only we have to do with the WWII is in the past: to learn in the school about that date, hear some storys from our grandparents or parents about her adventures in this time and to pay the reparations.

In the present we have to pray for our crimes and pay the reparations. In the future we have to pray for our crimes and pay the reparations...! This is a fucking circle and we have the hope that in the near future this will be broken and we can live here and now and not in the fucking past!

:: Please tell me about your label. How many records have you released, how one can buy your releases and so on.

L.White Records is a small German industrial label which prefer all styles of industrial music, especially power-electronics!

With L.White Records we release till today around 30 regular releases (and a lot are planned for the future). We release some CD, CDR, one double LP, some VHS videos, DVDR's, a real DVD and some t-shirts from bands all over the world.

Some of them are solo releases and some are compilations/contributions from some bands.

Our releases could buy at any mailorder all over the world (Steinklang (Aut), Tesco (GER), Malignant (USA), Coldland (Rus) etc., or direct at www.lwhite-records.de

:: What do you consider your best releases so far?

It is very diff?cult to say what is our best release - we like them all! But one of our best was the LW004 triple CD compilation called: DON'T HUNT, WHAT YOU CAN'T KILL with 40 international industrial artists from all over the world. Also our latest LW V05 DVD release: CON-DOM/THE GREY WOLVES live at the Consumer Electronics 5 festival.

:: Plans for the label? Upcoming releases and such...

We want to work again with some national and international industrial artists we like and release some more good industrial releases in any forms.

Our label philosophy is: if you like industrial music - it's ok to be white!
